Suite Escape Boarding Program
Daytime Experience
Dogs who are active daytime clients at any Crate Escape location will spend their days participating in the Charlestown daytime program best suited to their needs and behaviors while boarding. They'll enjoy enrichment activities, regular access to our outdoor play yards throughout the day, and supervised group play and socialization as appropriate.
For dogs who are not active daycare participants, or who are better suited to individualized care, we offer a personalized boarding experience. These guests enjoy one-on-one staff interaction, individual play sessions, outdoor yard time, enrichment activities, and plenty of affection and relaxation throughout their stay.
Health & Medical Requirements
Suite Escape is designed for dogs who can comfortably participate in normal daily activities without requiring specialized medical care or restricted handling.
We are happy to administer routine oral medications for dogs who are otherwise healthy and able to participate in our boarding program. Dogs requiring more intensive, acute, or specialized medical care must receive advance approval before boarding. This allows our team to determine whether we can safely meet your dog's needs or whether a more individualized care setting would be more appropriate.
All medical conditions, recent injuries, surgeries, or changes in health must be disclosed before your dog's arrival. Failure to provide this information may result in a change to your dog's boarding program or our inability to accommodate the reservation.
For the health and safety of all dogs, we reserve the right to deny admission to any dog showing signs of contagious illness or presenting with open wounds, stitches, bandages, protective coverings, mobility restrictions, or other conditions that could compromise their safety or the safety of others. When appropriate, veterinary clearance confirming your dog is healthy and ready to return may be required before future daycare or boarding visits.
Extended Boarding Stays
Reservations longer than 14 nights are considered on a case-by-case basis. Approval depends on your dog's previous boarding history, demonstrated comfort with extended stays, and our confidence that we can continue to provide a positive experience throughout the duration of the visit.
If you're planning an extended trip, we encourage you to contact us well in advance so we can discuss the best plan for your dog's individual needs.
Boarding & Daycare Re-acclimation Policy - Every Dog is Different
At Crate Escape, every recommendation we make is centered around one goal: ensuring each dog feels safe, comfortable, and confident while in our care.
Unlike people, dogs don't always pick up where they left off. A few months away from daycare or boarding can represent a significant portion of a dog's life. While three months may seem like a short time to us, it can feel more like one to one-and-a-half years in "dog time." During that period, a dog's confidence, social preferences, comfort level, and routines can change considerably.
For that reason, dogs returning after an extended break may need time to reacclimate before participating in longer daycare or boarding stays.
Our Recommendations are Individualized
There is no single rule that applies to every dog. Our team considers many factors before making a recommendation, including:
-
How long it has been since the dog's last daycare or boarding stay
-
Frequency of recent daycare attendance
-
Recent boarding history
-
Length of the requested boarding reservation
-
The dog's age, personality, and comfort level
-
Current activity and group dynamics within our daycare and boarding programs
-
Any changes we've observed in the dog's behavior or social preferences
These recommendations are made on a case-by-case basis because every dog's needs are unique.
Why We May Recommend a Re-acclimation Stay
For dogs who have been away from daycare or boarding for several months, we may recommend a daycare visit, evaluation, trial day, or a single overnight stay before a longer boarding reservation.
This allows your dog to:
-
Reacquaint themselves with our team and facility
-
Become comfortable with the current dog groups
-
Re-establish routines and confidence
-
Reduce stress during an extended boarding stay
-
Give our staff an opportunity to assess how your dog is adjusting and ensure we're setting them up for success
We've found that this gradual reintroduction often results in happier, more relaxed dogs during longer stays.
Our Commitment
Our recommendations are never intended to create inconvenience or require unnecessary visits. They are made because we know that dogs thrive when introductions and transitions happen at a pace that matches their individual comfort level.
Our priority will always be your dog's physical health, emotional well being, and overall experience while they're with us. Sometimes that means taking one extra step today to ensure many happy visits in the future.
If you ever have questions about a recommendation for your dog, we're always happy to discuss the factors that led to it and work together to create the best plan for your pup.
